Kannur : Given steady cuts in Central share to states, Kerala must explore new income sources, said CPI(M)State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. There is money needed to build Nava Keralam(new Kerala). Not only does Centre not pay State its dues, more cuts on income kinds are likely. Therefore, waiting for Centre’s remittances will spell bankruptcy for Kerala. Given the situation, we must tap income avenues on the private enterprise front, said Kodiyeri. The State Secretary was speaking at the inaugural of seminar “Nava Keralam and the Left Govt’ organised as part of Party Congress.
A total of Rs 70,000 crores was availed from KIIFB for developmental projects. We must tap into these kind of sources. The first Pinarayi govt. ended its term accomplishing several developmental feats considered impossible before.
It is main goal with the LDF government to eradicate extreme poverty alongside ensuring development in State. The Opposition is stirring up ruckus as they foresee likelihood of 3rd comeback for the Left government. Their moves are aimed to blockade future development. To build a new Kerala, it is absolutely essential that these projects be worked out, said Kodiyeri.
If there should come about an alternative to BJP government, the Left party sway must build up across the country. Lost states must be regained. The Party Congress will envision activities and guidelines toward building an alternative against BJP, said Kodiyeri.
