Thiruvananthapuram: The govt today filed an appeal in the High Court, stating lapses in probe against the rape accused persons in the case. Witness testimonies given in the court were not considered, it added.
The appeal cites how, there was no probe against rape involved in the first death. Also there has been no action against witnesses who changed their testimonies.
A re-investigation and retrial would be necessary, govt urged.
The case revolves around two sisters at Walayar, aged 13 and 9 who were found hanging inside their home in a gap of 52 days. They were both subject to rape, said the postmortem report.
