Kalpetta: As search for landslide victims progressed through its seventh day, 6 more bodies were recovered in landslide sites of Wayanad – 5 from Wayanad and 1 from Nilambur.
Personnel from Army, Navy, Air Force, NDRF, Kerala Police and Fire and Rescue department numbering 1174 are engaged in search operations apart from 913 volunteers and local guides. Canine search draws on K9 Dog Squad, Army Dog Squad and Tamil Nadu Fire Service Dog Squad. 25 Hitachis, ground-penetrating radars, aerial survey drones and scuba divers too are assisting the search.
150 bodies and partial remains of another 181 victims have been recovered so far. 31 unidentified victims and body parts of 158 were cremated in joint funeral held Puthumala.
