Thiruvananthapuram: An amount of Rs 4 crore has been allocated to District Collector from the State Disaster Response Fund, to provide financial assistance to kin of those who died in the twin landslides of Wayanad. The disbursements are to comply with norms laid for utilisation of State Disaster Response Fund.
Landslides followed by flash floods struck Mundakayya and Chooralmala in the northern district of Wayanad on 30th July. The unprecedented scale of the tragedy has claimed at least 308 lives and destroyed homes, property and crops on widescale.
