KOCHI : The High Court on Tuesday asked what was going on in Lakshadweep, adding that, it was receiving information other than news put out on media.
The Division Bench comprising Justices K Vinod Chandran and MR Anita was hearing Public Interest Litigation questioning dispatch of public prosecutors to surrounding islands for examining chargesheets there. The court also issued stay on the administrator’s orders sending public prosecutors on various duties to sub-islands.
The Bench cited the complaints it received earlier about the Island’s courts rendered dysfunctional after mid-summer vacation owing to absence of public prosecutors who have been send away on other jobs. The court also sent notice to the administrator in the issue.
