Thiruvananthapuram : The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued heavy and widespread rains in Kerala. Eight districts are put on Yellow Alert, namely, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Idukki, Kozhikode and Kannur. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta are off Yellow Alert.
Effects from cyclonic circulations in Karnataka will likely cause sporadic rainfall in north and central regions in Kerala. Pre-monsoon showers too are likely to be received in coming days.
Prohibition on fishing remains around coasts of Kerala. The MeT has asked to keep out seas till direction further.
