Palakkad : The KPCC should clarify its stand on Congress leaders in North India vying to back the uniform civil code, said Minister PA Muhammad Riyas. The leaders in Kerala are not willing to even let KPCC lodge a complaint with the High Command.
Congress parliamentarians never put up a disagreement when the private bill was presented in Lok Sabha. There must be collective protest against the uniform civil code. The Congress, with no particular stand on the issue, and communal elements like Jamaat-e-Islami cannot be part of this. This is why CPI(M) did not invite Congress to join the protest rally, said Riyas speaking with media in Palakkad.
