Venjaramoodu Murders: Police Arrest Woman Who Helped Killers With Hideout and Getaway Car

Thiruvananthapuram : Police on Tuesday arrested a woman who helped the Congress goons hide after the murders of  two DYFI workers in Venjaramoodu. The woman, a Madhuram naitve, Preeja, was taken into custody on Monday night. With this, the number of persons arrested in the case rose to seven.

Preeja sheltered the assailants soon after the crime and later arranged  a Innova car to ride them out of Pathanamthitta. Tipped on her role, the police set up a ruse with one pretending to be a car driver and she was eventually arrested.

The remand report states political enmity as motive for the killings.  The assailants  are INTUC activists and the plot to murder Haq Muhammad and Mithiraj, was hatched at a farm house in Pullambara. The report says there are more persons involved in the murder conspiracy than in custody currently.
