M Leelavathy Conferred With This Year’s ONV Literary award

Thiruvananthapuram: : Noted critic  M Leelavathy has been conferred with this year’s ONV Literary award. The award jury presided by C Radhakrishnan comprised Prabhaverma and Dr Anil Vallathol.  

The award is given away  each year by ONV Cultural Academy to commemorate the memory of renowned poet, ONV Kurup. The academy’s chairman Addor Gopalakrishnan informed that the award will be presented at the M Leelavathy’s residence in Kochi.The award comprises a statue, a citation and a purse with Rs 3 lakh.

Leelavathy’s has contributed outstanding works in the critic genre of Malayalam literature. The award marks feminine imprint in the realm of crirical literature, the jury said.

Her noted works include, Varnaraji, Amruthamashnuthe, Malayala Kavitha Sahithya Chairthram, Adipararoopangal Sahithyahil, Appuvinte Anweshanam, Navatharangam and a translation of Valmiki Ramayan.

This is the fourth edition of the award with previous awardees being Sugathakumari, MT Vasudevan Nair and Akkitham Achuthan Namboothiri
