Kochi : Youth Congress men laid plans to attack Chief Minister aboard flight, the govt informed High Court Tuesday, letting on its stand opposing bail pleas of accused Farseen majeed, RK Naveen and Sujith Narayanan. Justice Viju Abraham is hearing the case.
Passenger testimonies indicate the three kept watch on the Chief Minister way before the flight landed. Digital evidences and witness statements show the men advanced menacingly toward CM shouting slogans. The security personnel sustained injuries in the scuffle. The three booked their tickets together and communicated with one another as part of the conspiracy.
The DGP asked for custody of the accused citing they had cases pending. There are no CCTV images of the attack, the prosecution told the court. Since the aircraft was small-sized, there were no visuals, the DGP explained.
The 3rd accused countered the claim saying CCTVs are mandatory for aircrafts and that visuals are being deliberately shoved away. The defendants claimed the case would not hold water if visuals become examined. There is no case registered against EP Jayrajan for assaulting the youths. All that happened was calling out slogans of “Youth Congress Zindabad”, the defendants argued.
