Thiruvananthapuram :  Centre’s claim of there never having been a oxygen-shortage death in the country is a hoax. From the outbreak of Covid second wave up until 3rd August, 682 people have died in 126 incidents of oxygen  supply shortages.

Worse, much of these deaths have occurred in government hospitals. Covid patients have died from lack of oxygen in 19 states and  centre-controlled regions of Jammu Kashmir.

A study conducted by  a lawyers-researchers-students’ collective said in its findings that, except for Kerala, Covid patients have met with oxygen-deprived deaths in all states, especially in the larger ones.

Mass Deaths In Goa
83 people died in Goa for want of oxygen . an indication of grave governmental lapse . All deaths had occurred at Goa Medical College and that too in a stretch of five consecutive days. Oxygen supply has stayed disrupted for as long as 90 minutes at Goa Medical College. The highest count of  oxygen shortage fatalities came from  BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh that recorded 88 deaths.

Covid deaths from the most prolonged supply shortage was reported from Uttar Pradesh, where 55 people died over the course of 19 straight days without oxygen. 36 people died from lack of oxygen at Karnataka’s Chamarajan Nagar Institute of Medical Science on 3 May.
