New Delhi : The third Modi government Budget is extremely disappointing – one that comes down to empty promises and more of an exercise to keep the Central government from collapsing, said CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury.
Currently it is NDA coalition ruling at the Centre and not BJP. And to keep the alliance in one piece, it is essential to lavish Bihar and Andhra with benefits. Allocation for women’s welfare is announced each Budget time. However, it is never raised or utilised in proper manner.
The Budget offers no measure to reduce fiscal deficit or rein in inflation. The Budget will make living harder for the middle class.
This is a Budget that severely neglects the North Eastern States. The country is taking not of Manipur plight That State is literally burning. There is an increase of just Rs 8 crores for development of North Eastern states.
We are being told there will be massive construction works and developments across the nation. And yet, how many flyovers and roads built by this government have already collapsed. This is Modi government form of development, said Sitaram Yechury in a media briefing post presentation of the Union Budget.
