New Delhi : Aam Aadmi Party(AAP)’s Shelly Oberoi was elected as Mayor of Delhi Municipal Corporation. She won the race in a 34-vote lead defeating BJP’s Rekha Gupta. The mayoral elections had been postponed thrice owing to fist fights between BJP and APP council at meetings.
AAP’s Aaley Mohammad Iqbal was elected Deputy Mayor, winning 147 votes of the total 266 ballots cast.
