Gorakhpur : ABVP workers in Uttarakhand beat up the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of Deen Dayal Upadhyay University in Gorakhpur. BJP workers who arrived from outside campus too joined the onslaught. Vice Chancellor Rajesh Singh and Registrar Ajay Singh were also stabbed in the head.
There was student protest ongoing at the campus over fee hike and other issues Things suddenly took a nasty turn, when gang of ABVP and BJP members from outside arrived and manhandled the two authorities. Police who tried to intervene were also beaten up.
According to reports, the tipping point came when the authorities refused to meet with protesting students. The attackers broke into the VC’s chamber. Footage of the VC and Registrar being dragged, kicked and punched is viralling on social media.
