Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Monday rejected Republic TV supremo Arnab Goswami’s interim bail plea in the case against him for allegedly abetting suicide of an architect, Anvay Naik, and his mother in 2018, by depriving payment dues towards work. The ruling was delivered by Justices SS Shinde and MS Karnik who also refused to stay reopening of the Anvay Naik suicide case and asked him to approach lower court in the matter.
Incidentally, Arnab filed another petition with Alibaug Sessions Court the ruling of which is expected coming Friday. The High Court in its ruling had clarified that its observations will have no bearing on decisions of the lower court.
Arnab is currently lodged in Taloga jail in Navi Mumbai where he was shifted to on Sunday, after being found using mobile phone illegally at Alibaug jail.
