NEW DELHI : Jamait Ulema-al-Hind, a leading organisation of Islamic scholars, filed appeal in the Supreme Court seeking review of its recent verdict on Ayodhya land dispute.
The petition claims occurrence of serious lapses in the judgment together with ignoring crucial documents submitted in the case.
An eight-member Constitution Bench of the apex court on 8 Nov granted permission to construct temple on the disputed 2.2 land in Ayodhya and directed the govt to allot 5 acre land at a prominent location for building mosque.
The verdict marked settling of the longest-drawn case in the history of land disputes in the country.
