Bengaluru : The Karnataka High Court set aside proceedings of the trial court against Bineesh Kodiyeri in the money laundering case. The court in its ruling observed that the ED case was not sustainable. Money laundering charges cannot be maintained against Bineesh as he is not accused in drug trafficking, the court said.
With the case Stayed, Bineesh is not required to appear before trial court until High Court proceedings are over.
In October of 2020, ED arrested Bineesh in a dramatic fashion. The sleuths first called him over to Bengaluru presumably for questioning . He was granted conditional bail by the High Court but only after a year. INcidentally, the ED has not produced any evidence against Bineesh up until now.
