BSF Seizes Fake Currency Notes of Face Value of Rs 8.98 Lakh

Malda (WB) > The Border Security Force has seized fake Indian currency notes of face value of Rs 8.98 lakh from near Daulatpur border outpost in Malda district, a BSF release said today.

A joint special operation (Ambush) team with representatives of National Investigation Agency noticed suspicious movement near a house in Daulatpur village of the district early this morning. The team challenged the suspected person and apprehended him, it said. On thorough search of the house of apprehended person, fake currency notes of face value of Rs 8.98 lakh in denomination of 500 and 2000 were found and seized.

The seized fake currency notes have been handed over to Baishnabnagar police station for further legal action, it said.
This year the BSF South Bengal Frontier has seized FICN of face value Rs 22.64 lakh (including this seizure) and has apprehended two Indian FICN racketeers, the release added.
