New Delhi : The Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi’s AAP government, Manish Sisodia, has been arrested by the CBI after more than eight hours of interrogation in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam involving alleged corruption.
Sisodia handled 18 departments of the Delhi govt including finance, excise and education and is second Delhi minister to be arrested since Satyendar Jain.
The CBI said Sisodia failed to answer questions satisfactorily with regard to irregularities in framing and implementation of Excise Policy for the year 2021 0 22 and extending post tender benefits to private parties.
The Aam Aadmi Party rebutted the claim saying the arrest was an “attack on Delhi model of governance”. “You(BJP) didn’t get anything from his house or bank accounts. They haven’t been able to prove any allegation against him,” said AAP senior leader Atishi, at a press conference.
