New Delhi :The Central Vigilance Commission(CVC) in its report said the majority of corruption complaints received last year implicated officials of the Union Home Ministry. Next in volume were complaints against Railways and bank officials. The data was divulged in CVC’s annual report.
There were 1,15,203 complaints lodged against Central government employees of which 85,437 have been addressed and 29,766 are pending examination. Of the total complaints against Central employees, 46,643 were against those in the Union Home Ministry, 10,580 against Railway employees and another 8129 against bank officials. 7370 complaints implicated government officials in Delhi alone of which, 6604 stand resolved.
The Central Vigilance Commission gives a three-month time period to Vigilance dept in which to investigate and act on the complaints.
