Amethi, U. P. : UP police arrested a native of Gauriganj in Amethi for posting death threat to Bhim Army leader Chandrasekhar Azad on Facebook. Arrested in the incident is Vimlesh Singh.
According to police, Vimlesh’s post warning Chandrashekar on “Kshatriya of Amethi” page “ on Facebook appeared five days before the shooting. . “Chandrashekar will be killed in broad daylight. Only Thakurs of Amethi will kill him.”, the post read.
Then after the shooting Vimlesh claimed responsibility for the attack. The second post read “Bhim Army Chief Chandrasekhar Ravana was shot in the back. He survived, but will not escape the next time.” Police has taken Vimlesh into custody to investigate if he actually has a role in the crime, Amethi Superintendent of Police Dr. Elamaran told media.
Chandrashekar Azad was ambushed in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur on Wednesday. A gang of unidentified men arrived in a car and opened fire. Though a bullet pierced him, Azad survived the attack and was discharged from the hospital yesterday.
