Raipur : In a bid to contain the exploding virus situation in the state, Chhattisgarh announced strict lockdown beginning today, for 10 districts including its capital of Raipur. The curb will hold good for a week from now up to 28th September.
Apart from Raipur, districts of Jaipur, Baloda Bazar, Janjageerchamba, Durga, Bhilai and Bhilaspur too have gone under lockdown.
Raipur alone reports between 900 - 100 daily cases. Given the growing rate in fresh cases, the entire district has been declared as containment zone.
The Rural Collector S Bharati Dasan informed blockade of all inter-district roads and passages. All offices - government, semi-government and private - in the district too have been closed.
Raipur alone accounts for 26,000 of the state’s total confirmed cases so far. During the lockdown, there is a complete ban on any type of congregation including meetings or any other function.
