THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, hit out at Citizenship Amendment Bill saying, the legislation passed by flexing Sangh Parivar flexing muscle in Rajya Sabha, erodes the very foundations of our Democracy and Constitution. The Bill phases out the concept of secularism, he said.

The dark law is byproduct of RSS strategy that aims to divide people along religious lines and instigate communal riots, Pinarayi alleged.

BJP has once again proved that. racism and communal hate are its chief weapon to harvest political  gains. Home Minister Amit Shah’s words in Rajya Sabha indicate the Centre’s total rejection of secular valuesm the minister said.

Stealthily but surely, the stage is being set to  prop up fascist governance in the country, warned Pinarayi. Together we must protest vehemently against these moves, he urged  in his FB note.

Rajya Sabha on Wednesday passed the Bill amending Citizenship Act 1955, following which, the govt will hand citizenship to only non-Muslim refugees originating from 6 different communities, who might have fled persecution in the neighbouring countries of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
