New Delhi : The conditions at relief camps in Manipur are pathetic, said CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury. People are in severe distress. The Opposition Parties will meet with the President once again to seek intervention to resolve the situation.
Governance in Manipur is a total wreck. The problems are far beyond what the current government can solve. The Chief Minister Biren Singh should be removed from his post. The current government is a total failure and has come to standstill. Even so, neither the Prime Minister nor the Central government is ready to intervene.
The State of Manipur has split up into two sections namely, Kuki and Meitei. The Kuki MLAs are unable to even reach the Assembly. The situation is such that Kukis cannot enter Meitei territory and vice versa, Yechury said.
The police blockade at Surjeet Bhavan is deplorable. There now exist conditions that debates and events cannot be held freely. Needful action would be taken against the situation, said Yechury at press conference in the capital.
