Thiruvanantahpuram : MP Shashi Tharoor running for Congress presidential polls said he was not expecting support of big leaders and rather was hoping to be backed by ordinary party workers. He was speaking with reporters during his poll campaign in Kerala.
Tharoor’s response comes in the wake of Kerala party seniors sidelining him. After all, it is Mallikarjun Kharge who emerged as the candidate AICC backs. In fact, some from AICC are doing rounds in the state and have instructed prominent leaders to not so much as even meet with Tharoor.
Incidentally, KPCC president K Sudhakaran openly announced support for Kharge in the polls slated for 17th. Tharoor told media his trust lies on ordinary party workers who are largely discontent. Leaders must not think there is no one to hear them out, said Tharoor.
