Bengaluru : As voting counting progresses in Karnataka, Congress continues to remain in the lead, crossing the simple majority mark of 113 seats. Congress workers burst into celebrations at Party head office. Congress leader Siddramaiah leads in Varuna constituency and DK Shivakumar in Kanakapuri. Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar leads in Hubbali-Dharwad. He had slipped behind at one point but caught lead soon after.
Meanwhile Congress instructed its winner leaders to come to Bengaluru, a measure seen as safeguard against BJP’s usual horse-trading tactic.
