Chandigarh : Punjab Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira was arrested on drug trafficking charges from his residence in Chandigarh’s Jalalabad on Thursday.
The arrest comes over a case registered years ago under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances(NDPS) Act. Khaira maintained he is innocent and that action against him stems from his unfavourable reactions to Aam Aadmi governance in Punjab.
Khaira put up resistance when the arrest team arrived, the footage of which he shared on social media.
