Covid-19 Caseload Countrywide Crosses 90 Lakh; Deaths 1.3L

NEW DELHI: India covid tally crossed 90 lakh and death toll surpasses 1.31 lakh.  38,617  fresh cases were  reported in past 24 hours and 474 deaths during that time. The highest daily cases tally comes from Delhi where 6396 new infections were reported on Tuesday. It tops the chart for daily deaths with 99 fatalities recorded on Tuesday. Maharashtra reported 68, Bengal 52, Punjab 30, Haryana 25, Chhattisgarh 19, UP 19 and Tamil Nadu 18. Recoveries in the last 24 hours rose to 44,739 pushing the national recovery rate to 93.52 percent. 83.35 lakh people have recuperated from their infection around the country so far. Active cases currently figure at 4.47 lakh. 

All-Party Meet in Delhi
AAP govt in Delhi has called an all-party meet as covid situation worsens unabated in the capital city. The meeting begins 11 am on Thursday and will discuss scaling up testings, beds and ventilators at hospitals and other arrangements to cope up with huge surges witnessed now. On Tuesday, the administration had slashed numbers to 50 for gatherings at weddings from previous  200 allowed as per national guidelines.
