NEW DELHI: The CPI(M) Central Committee lend approval to poll strategies formulated for four states for Assembly elections of next year. The Central Committee deliberated for two days over recommendations submitted by respective State Committees, before granting the approval, said party General Secretary Sitaram Yechury at a press conference on Saturday.
At the meeting, the Central Committee strongly condemned Centre’s action of harassing government of Kerala by manipulating central agencies including CBI. The upcoming elections will deliver fitful reply for the oppression, Yechury added.
CPI(M) will remain integral part of LDF in Kerala to contest next elections. In Tamil Nadu, the party will compete allied to DMK front. In Assam, the party will align with secular parties including Congress to defeat BJP that has polarised the state communally and shattered social unity. On similar lines in West Bengal, CPI(M) will form alliances with secular parties including Congress to defeat BJP and TMC combined. The party will finalise the working arrangements of these alliances after due consideration, said Sitaram Yechury.
