Ballia (UP) > A 15-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by a 22-year-old man in a village in the district, police said on Monday. The accused identified as Sarvjeet Bind has been arrested and is in judicial custody. Station House Officer of Bairia police station, Dharamveer Singh, said the survivor was alone in her house on July 13 when the accused called her out on the pretext of some work and took her to a secluded place where he allegedly raped her.
When the girl's father confronted the accused, he allegedly hurled casteist abuses at him and threatened to kill him. On the complaint of the girl's father, a case was registered against Bind on Sunday. He was produced before a local court which sent him to judicial custody.
