Bhopal: Dalits were stopped from entering temple in Madhya Pradesh on Shivaratri day. The incident took plce on Saturday in Chapra village in Organ district. When members of the Dalit community arrived to offer prayers, they were stopped by people inside the temple. Both sides then resorted to stone pelting. Some of the Dalit victims said they were beaten up badly.
Police registered case against 17 who were identified and 42 others under provisions of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes(Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
