Web Desk(Tvm)Updated: Wednesday Feb 17, 2021

New Delhi: As part of intensifying protests, farmers prepare to halt rail services on Thursday. The goal is ground rail services across the country for four hours during the day. The farmers seek to evoke maximum public participation for their cause.  The goal is to strengthen farmers’ protest throughout the country, said President to Samyukt Kissan Morcha.

There will also be candle-lit and torch-lit  marches in the day to commemorate the birth anniversary of farmers’ leader Sir Chota Ram.  In the 65-day demonstrations in Maharashtra’s Vardha, anganwadi employees too joined the protests.

Haryana ministers Anil Viji and JP Dalal, who portrayed environment activists as traitors for supporting farmers’ protests, should be ousted from their posts, demanded Kissan Morcha. Mahapanchayats held in Haryana had passed resolutions in this regard.

Trains Cancellations
Trains in large numbers came to be cancelled up north, in the wake of disruption announced for Thursday. Services from Amritsar to Darbangal and Nandedi have been cancelled and routes of Amritsar-Mumbai and Amritsar-Korbha diverted.
