Fodder Scam : Lalu Prasad Yadav Found Guilty In Fifth Case As Well

New Delhi :  CBI court in Jharkand’s Ranchi convicted RJD Chief and former Bihar Chief Minister in the fifth case relating to the  sensational fodder scam. In the case Lalu Prasad Yadav has been found guilty of illegally withdrawing Rs 139.35 crores from Doranda treasury.

The verdict was delivered by Justice CK Shashi who  acquitted 24 other accused persons for want of sufficient evidence.  Those acquitted also included six women.

Dating to 1996, the CBI registered a total of 53 cases in the Fodder Scam.

Lalu was personally present in the court room at the time of judgment. His lawyers have moved a plea seeking a shift to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences over poor health conditions.  The court will hear the plea later in the day.

The infamous fodder scam relates to illegal withdrawals from various government treasures to a whopping sum that totals to Rs 950 crores, quarter of a century ago.
