NEW DELHI: CBI began investigations into Hathras gangrape case. CBI investigation was applied for by the UP government, following widespread dissatisfaction over its police probe. The notification on CBI taking over was published yesterday.CBI registered its case on Sunday and is expected to reach Hathras tomorrow.
CBI sleuths will look into the family’s complaint that the 19-year-old was gangraped and killed. It will also examine the alleged culprits’ claims that, the girl’s brother had thrashed her leading to the death. All findings in the case were handed over to CBI by state police.
Meanwhile, the UP cops are probing the curious case of a lady doctor who stayed with the victim’s family at their home in Hathras, pretending to be a relative.
