Manama: Dubai has said on Sunday that it will allow foreign tourists to enter the emirates from July 7, while residency visa hlders will be able to enter from Monday, June 22 as part of its relaxation in air travel restriction. It will also allow citizens and residents to travel abroad starting Tuesday, June 23.
The announcement will permit thousands of people affected by the worldwide restrictions in air traffic since the start of the coronavirus pandemic to resume their travel plans, the Dubai media office said in the statement.
All tourists would have to present certificates to show that they have tested negative in a PCR examination for Covid-19 done four days (96 hours) before the departure or would undergo tests on arrival at Dubai airports, the Dubai government media office said.
Apart from Covid-19 tests, international health insurance, and a completed health declaration form are mandatory for tourists visiting Dubai.
Those who test positive for coronavirus should isolate themselves for 14 days at their home or in an institutional facility at their own expense.
The announcement comes more than two months since the UAE introduced stringent measures to limit the spread of Covid-19.
The UAE halted all passenger flights in March and banned foreign citizens from entering the country except for UAE residents, who required UAE government approval before returning.
Many of those restrictions have been eased recently, including the resumption of a few flights.
