NEW DELHI : Covid-19 pandemic is taking its toll at rapid pace across the country with 6977 new cases and 154 deaths reported in the past 24 hours. This takes nationwide tally for infections to 1,38,845.
77,103 persons are currently under treatment for the virus in India. There have been 57,720 recoveries so far and 4021 deaths.
India ranks 10 on chart for hardest-hit countries around the world. Topping the list among states for the highest number of infections is Maharashtra, where cases have now crossed 50,000 mark, of which 30,000 belong to Mumbai alone.. The infection tally for Kerala, which reported the country’s first confirmed case, is 847 with 322 patients under treatment and 520 recoveries so far.
