7.67 Lakh Covid Cases Countrywide; Recovery Rate at 61.53 Percent

New Delhi : Infections continue to explode on the  Covid front, with 7.67  cases recorded around the country so far and  22,752 people  testing positive newly in past 24 hours. 21,000 have died so far from the disease and recovery tally stands at 4.57 lakh i.e. 61.53 percent.  

At national level, there are around 2.65 people under treatment. The daily tally stayed below 23,000 on Monday and Tuesday while Thursday recorded over 24,000 fresh cases. A total of 2.63 lakh samples have been received by laboratories in the past 24 hours, the rate of testing now figuring at 7180 per 10 lakh of the public.

ð There were 198 deaths recorded in Maharashtra on Wednesday, taking the  total fatalities figure to 9448 while its total infections tally stood at 2.24 lakh.
Mumbai accounted for more than 1000 deaths up by 62 on Wednesday.
 

ð Tamil Nadu saw 64 deaths on Wednesday and has 3756 people under treatment. The state recorded 1.22 lakh infections up to now and 1700 fatalities.  

ð There were 48 deaths recorded in Delhi on Wednesday, taking its total fatality numbers to 3213. There are around 1,04,864 infections recorded so far.  

ð Karnataka overtakes Delhi with 2062 fresh cases on Wednesday and deaths numbered 54. Total infections so far : 28,877 and deaths 470. 

ð UP recorded 18 deaths on Wednesday, Bengal 23, Andhra Pradesh 12,  Rajasthan 10 and Gujarat 16. 

ð Containment zones in Bengal have been locked down completely for one week and would be extended if found necessary. 

ð Andhra Pradesh records single-day tally of above 1000 for 3 straight days in a row. 

ð An ASI posted at Karnataka’s KRS Station tests positive for the virus.
