Coimbatore: The central government failed to draw up evacuation plan for Indians in Afghanistan before Taliban took full control of that country, said CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury at a news conference in Coimbatore. The plan to fetch Indians should have been formulated well in advance. Flight services in Afghanistan have ground to a halt. The government should clarify on the steps taken to ensure safety of our countrymen there.
Anticipating likely Taliban takeover, several nations rescued their citizens from Afghanistan before the fall of Kabul, said Yechury who was speaking to the media after addressing the CPI(M) state committee meeting in Tamil Nadu.
On Peguasus hacking, Yechury said, the central government has admitted to Supreme Court of having used the spyware.
