Mumbai : Air India suspended all its flights to and from Tel Aviv owing to rising tensions between Israel and Iran following killing of Hamas Chief, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran. The flights have been cancelled un to 8 August. Those with confirmed tickets would be offered option to either cancel or reschedule their travel without add-on charges.
Given the fears of Iran retaliation over slaying of Hamas and Hezbollah seniors, and reciprocal strikes from Israel, the airliners including US and European airlines, seek to avoid Iranian and Lebanese airspace.
According to reports, Singapore Airlines, Taiwan’s EVA Air, and China Airlines are rerouting flights to avoid passing over Iran and Iraq.
