93.41 % of schools have in-house computers and 88% internet connectivity

School Education: Kerala Outshines; Kerala Has Made Quantum Leap in Digital Learning Facility, Says Centre’s Report

New Delhi :  Kerala shines as a striking outlier in public education countrywide. .The Unified District Information System For Education Plus(UDISE Plus 2019-2020)report released by the Union Education Minister arrays list of Kerala’s outstanding feats in various sectors.

School Highlights
93.41 percent of Kerala’s schools have in-house computers and 88% have internet connectivity. In 2019-20 there have been only 22 percent of schools nationwide having internet  connectivity. Even under today's l covid conditions , only  62 percent of schools in the country  having in-house computers. Under pandemic, digital facility is heavily relied upon  for education purposes. Apart from ensuring digital means at student-end, Kerala surpasses other states in providing digital facilities at its school premises too.

93.47 percent  of Kerala’s school possess good library facility. 99.62 percent of its school premises  have safe drinking. . Of the total 16,665 schools in state, 16,526 are electrified. All of its schools have toilet facility. Hand sanitising   has been provided for. 

Currently, there are 64,64,071 students learning in Kerala schools from pre-primary to Plus Two grade. Of these, 17,25,686 learn in public schools and 27,40,593 in private institutions. Then there are 18,21,731 who learn at government-aided schools and 1,76,061  in recognised unaided schools.
