Kochi : The High Court today rejected plea seeking CBI investigations into Walayar case , where two sisters aged 13 and 9, had committed suicide in a gap of 2 months in Palakkad.
The plea comprised accusations lacking concrete grounds and relies heavily on media reports instead, observed the court.
The office bearer of Malayalavedi Association had petitioned the court for probe by the apex agency.
It is not right to seek re-investigation or retrial in cases where police are done with chargesheeting and the court has completed trial, just because one finds the verdict disagreeable, the court said.
Meanwhile, govt will proceed with its appeal against the verdict, the lawyer appearing for government informed the court.
