Bharatpur, RAJASTHAN A doctor couple was shot dead in their car by two men at a busy traffic intersection in Rajasthan, in what appeared to be a deadly revenge in broad daylight for blood of one's own.
The incident took place in city of Bharatpurat 4.45 pm Friday. CCTV footage shows two men on bike block a car at the traffic signal. Then one of the men, get down and bends over into the open window on driver’s side, pulls out a concealed gun and shoots Dr. Sudeep Gupta(46) point blank. The doctor slumps and the assailant pushes his hand further into the car and shoots the his wife, Dr.Seema Gupta(44) who is seated on the front passenger side killing her instantly too. The assailant then climbs onto the pillion seat of the waiting bike and speeds away.
The killing according to police is connected to murder of a 25-year-old woman that took place two years ago. In that case, Dr. Sudeep was romantically involved with their housemaid, Deepa Gurjar and allegedly fathered her 6-year-old son in the relationship. At some point, Dr. Seema got a whiff of the infidelity and dismissed Deepa from work. Dr. Sudeep meanwhile helped the fired maid to set up a beauty parlour, where one day, Dr. Seema arrived and doused both Deepa and her son with petrol before setting them ablaze. Both Dr. Sudeep and Dr. Seema were on bail. Police have identified the shooter as Deepa’s brother, Anuj Gujar.
