New Delhi : The Delhi University dismissed pro-RSS professor’s bizarre allegation of there being “Mark Jihad” practice in Kerala. Students from Kerala have no preferential treatment with regard to admissions; admissions have been completed purely on merit basis, said University Registrar Vikas Gupta.

Context : On Friday, Prof. Rakesh Kumar Pandey in his social media post said there was Mark Jihad prevalent in Kerala - a term he coined for alleging there were  concerted efforts behind the strategy that was  aimed to gain control of famed universities around the country.

The post came up shortly after most seats at   Delhi University affiliate colleges were taken up by Kerala Board students, despite cut-offs raised  to as high as 100 marks for all  popular courses including political science.

Meanwhile : SFI has called for action against Rakesh Pandey for instigating prejudice against Keala students.
