New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday ruled that having membership to a banned organization is a chargeable offence. As per section 10(A) under the UAPA Act case can be filed against any person with membership to unlawful organisation, ruled Bench comprising Justices MR Shah, CT Ravikumar and Sanjay Carroll.
Today’s verdict overturns the 2011 ruling which said that UAPA could not be clamped for merely holding mmebership to a banned organisation.
