Nagpur : The BJP minority wing leader Sana Khan, reported missing a week ago, was murdered by her husband Amit alias Papu Sahu and her body dumped into a river. Police took Amit into custody.
Amit ran a food joint by wayside and also traded illicit liquor. According to police, Amit and Sana had frequent fights that revolved around their finances. According to information available, Sana was a Nagpur resident and BJP ‘s minority cell member. She boarded a private bus on 1 August to Jabalpur to meet with her husband. After boarding the bus, Sana phoned her mother to say she was shortly headed for Jabalpur. That’s the last her mother would ever hear from her.
Over the course of next two days, Sana’s family and friends tried to contact her but to no avail. Her family arrived at Amit’s house where he said he knew nothing of Sana’s whereabouts.
A police complaint was lodged and investigations showed her mobile track ended in Amit’s home in Jabhalpur. He was taken into custody and subject to intense questioning. Amit eventually cracked and said the couple had argued over money and that he hit her on the head fatally with a thick stick and dumped her lifeless body into Hiran river.
Police await postmortem report to know about what really happened. Meanwhile, police are hunting for another man who was at the scene when the crime occurred and presumably helped Amit dispose off Sana’s body.
