Aizawl :  Apparently irked by another Malayali handout as governor- this time  PS Sreedharan Pillai -,   the apex student body Mizo Zirlai Pawl(MZP)  said  the State has become dumping ground for BJP leaders from Kerala.

Pillai is second BJP leader from Kerala to become Mizoram governor, after Kummanam Rajeshekaran resigned the post  in March, to contest Parliamentary elections in his home state.

MZP President L Ramdinliana said they did not want the State to become "a dumping ground for governors". "We do not want Raj Bhawan at Aizawl to become musical chair for politicians", he added.

Congress slammed Centre's move saying "BJP failing to win over Mizoram people, is trying to make backdoor entry using governors".

In 2014 Vakkom Purushotaman appointed by UPA-led govt had resigned after being shifted to Nagaland.

BJP assumed power at Centre that year and sacked Purushotaman's successor Kamala Beniwal  soon after.

The state has since seen 8 governors in 4 years, with none completing their  term.
