New Delhi : The Modi government is obliged to respond to serious allegations raised by former Jammu- Kashmir Governor Satyapal Mallik, said CPI(M) Polit Bureau in a statement.
The allegations surrounding Pulwama terror attack that cost lives of 40 CRPF jawans, is of serious nature. Lapses in national security cannot be shoved away.
Equally disturbing are allegations raised on annulling Article 370 and 35A of the Constitution and the splintering of Jammu Kashmir State into two Union Territories. Modi government’s quiet on these matters will have serious ramifications for India’s security, unity and integrity. The government should offer its version on these counts for preservation of national security and values laid in Constitution. The Modi govt cannot continue its quiet in this regard, read the PB statement.
Context : In his interview with The Wire, Satyapal Mallik revealed that he was “told to keep quiet” about security lapses surrounding the attack on convoy carrying CRPF personal in Pulawama district on 14 Septmeber 2019.
