13 Opposition parties released joint statement expressing solidarity in their opposition to  perpetration of  communal riots currently on.   The document is  a coming together of political parties positioned at varied levels on a topic that affects existence as a nation.  The signatories comprised CPI(M), CPI, Trinamool, DMK, RJD, national Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, NCP, RSP, Forward Block, CPIML-Liberation and IUML.

The joint statement strongly condemns spreading hate using social media platforms. Carefully conspired hatemongering and attacks  are being perpetrated while Prime Minister Narendra Modi silent on the situation - a refrain that reflects official support for the ongoings, the statement read.
