New Delhi: With Sonia Gandhi slated to appear before Enforcement Directorate(ED) today relating to money laundering case involving National Herald, Prohibitory ordersh have been clamped at AICC office and adjoining areas, in anticipation of protests. Although summoned by ED a couple of times earlier, Sonia sought postponement on health grounds until now.
Sonia Gandhi will appear before ED officials at 11 am, accompanied by MPs, Congress leaders and workers.
Rahul Gandhi had been interrogated for over 50 hours in the same case. Congress leadership has worries on E's moves that might involve an arrest. The leadership has summoned protests in Delhi and other states - similar to the kind organised while Rahul Gandhi was being grilled. Protest has also been called for, in the Parliament region.
Meanwhile, Congress seniors including Mallikaarjun Kharghe and Jairam Ramesh urged all Opposition Parties to support protest against government deploying Central agenciesias political weapon.
