New Delhi : The Brajmandal Jalabhishek Yatra planned by Sangh Parivar organisations in Haryana is tasked to heighten polarisation politics.

The Nuh district is  largely occupied by minorities and  the VHP, Bajrang Dal and others  jointly organised first of such Yatra i in 2021. Thousands participated in that rally in the name of restoring sanctity of temples.

Sangh Parivar claims  present Nuh region are the pastures where Krishna once grazed his cattle. For some years now, the Sangh Parivar organisations are spreading  word  around that there are Shiva temples located in Nuh dating back to Mahabharat times and that some people attempt to encroach them. The Jalabhishek Yatra is to pre-empt such “encroachment” efforts, the VHP claimed.

The Yatra taking off from Sona in Gurugram will make its first stop at Nalhar Mahadev Temple in Nuh from where it will proceed to Jeerakeshwar Mahadev and the Radha-Krishna temples,  before culminating at Srangeswar Mahadeva temple in Pulhana. There would be Jalabishek(anointment) at all temples.

In prelude to the Yatra, the VHP and Bajrang Dal carried out extensive communal campaign on social media and other platforms.  Monu Manesar, the prime accused in killing of two youths in the name of cow vigilante, was at forefront of these hate campaigns.

He threw provocative challenges like saying he was son-in-law of Nuh and let anyone dare stop him if they  would. Sangh Parivar activists took part in the Yatra flaunting weapons including lathis and swords and the police never attempted to disallow that. Clash erupted when members of the Yatra attacked a lawyer’s house in Nuh on their way.
